During School Hours:
New Required Screening for Visitors and Volunteers
On Monday, April 4th, 2022 we will welcome the return of volunteers and visitors. Please read the following important information regarding the new Raptor Visitor and Volunteer Management System now being used in all BVSD schools. The software helps strengthen campus safety for students and staff, as well as making it much easier for family members to volunteer at their child’s school.

How the System Works - For Visitors and Volunteers
- Upon entering a district building, visitors and volunteers will be asked to present an ID, which may be scanned or manually entered into the system. The Raptor system will check our visitors for sex offender status.
- Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the visitor/volunteer, the date, and the purpose of his/her visit.
Volunteer Requirements
- If you would like to volunteer on a regular basis, ride the bus on field trips or supervise children on field trips you must complete the Raptor volunteer application.
- This applies to all volunteers, even if you have completed BVSD fingerprinting in the past.
- The cost is $25 and the screening is good for 12 months from the date the application is completed.
- The application must be completed before volunteering begins. Once you have received email confirmation that your application has been approved, you are welcome to begin volunteering.
