Garden + Grounds Crew

In an effort to include the entire Foothill community in the appearance of the Foothill campus, the Garden + Grounds Crew organizes various landscaping projects such as a Fall and Spring Clean Up as well as spearheading the Garden to Table program which utilizes the school garden for various lessons in the classroom. Foothill started our Garden to Table program in 2010 to enrich student education, engage parents and help our community address health and environmental issues.

Spring Garden Patrol!

Volunteer for Spring Garden Patrol

Spring is here and along with that it is time to start growing in the Foothill garden! Our 1st graders did the important job of planting lettuce seedlings in three of the Foothill garden beds this week. This lettuce is currently growing under hoops to protect it from our crazy Colorado spring weather. We need families to sign up for a week at a time to open and close the covers of these beds to keep them at optimal growing conditions (usually a 5 minute trip to the garden each morning to open and each evening to close). We also ask that you keep an eye on the moisture level of the soil and let us know if the lettuce needs watering. Please sign your family up for a week.
