The Foothill PTO Board recently partnered with Native Edge Landscapes as part of a broader, longer term program to beautify the Foothill Elementary school grounds. The first piece of this initiative has been completed and included cleaning up and installing edging, mulch and new plantings in the gardens near the front entrance to the school. Over time the objective will be to clean up or install new landscaping in the other garden areas surrounding the building through Native Edge or other vendors, as well as through staff and parent volunteer efforts. A great big thank you to Native Edge for joining us as a Community Partner for the 2017-18 school year at the Gold level. You can find out more about our Community Partner program, here.

Stop by the library thru Thursday, November 16th for our annual book fair. It’s like a bookstore, but better! There are special, more affordable versions of books. For example, a hardcover might be $16.95 at a bookstore, but at the book fair the same book, in paperback, might be $3.95. There are also a variety of gift items. Our teachers will have a chance to preview the books and create “wish lists” for their classroom libraries. Families can help build classroom libraries by purchasing books from these lists. The book fair also helps Foothill earn funds to improve the school library! VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED TO MAKE THE BOOKFAIR A SUCCESS Background checks are not required to volunteer at this event. Please sign up here to volunteer for a shift or two. We especially need help covering 8-8:15 am every morning and also 3-4 pm each afternoon.
