Do you walk, bike, carpool or ride the school bus or RTD to Foothill? If you answered yes, you could be earning Trip Tracker dollars!
BVSD Trip Tracker encourages and rewards students and families for using alternatives to single family car transportation to BVSD schools. The program goal is to significantly reduce car traffic and associated air pollution in front of schools thereby enhancing student safety and health. Students then receive Trip Tracker dollars that can be used like cash at over 50 local businesses. Foothill students can participate by registering online and then download monthly calendars to keep track of their trips back and forth to school. At the end of the month, participating families receive an email for each registered student asking them to report their total number of trips for the month via a simple survey. Trip Tracker Dollars are then delivered to Foothill and distributed in Friday Folders each month. For more information on the Trip Tracker program at Foothill, click here.

A great big thank you to our friends at Casey Middle School who partnered with us for their annual Community Service Day to create an amazing educational mark at Foothill - an incredible map of the United States on the playground near the basketball courts. Sarah Friend ran with Principal Schuba's map idea and most of the project in one, long day. Custodian Mr. Almir helped figure out the complex, eight-panel template which included a zillion little dots and our friends from Casey saw the vision and connected the dots to create our US outline. We couldn't have done it without them! During the process, Principal Schuba dressed up in her USA costume to sing the 50 Nifty United States song repeatedly on the loud speaker. We're quite certain that the Casey students know all 50 states in alphabetical order in their sleep now! We'd also like to send a shout out to Kyle Addington, our new BVSD social studies/health coordinator, who came to the rescue and purchased more brushes and paint in the moment. as well as to custodian Jenny for being on the clean up crew.
Boulder Payback Books will be going home in today's Friday Folders. The Payback book was founded in 2001 on a simple two part philosophy:
It was also decided that Payback would give a generous 50% profit ($10 of the $21 purchase price) for every Payback book that a school sells….an unheard of concept in coupon book fundraising (other similar books start at a mere 20% profit). It was this willingness to develop a true “50/50 partnership” with the local schools - while generating new customers for area merchants - that led to the success of the Payback book – and its place today as the favorite choice for Boulder County area families looking for new businesses to visit - and new ways to save money! And now, with the successful launch of Payback Mobile, more and more families are enjoying great Payback savings - on their smartphones! YOUR OPTIONS:
If you choose not to purchase the book, just return it to school in your child’s Friday Folder.
PLEASE return payment or the Boulder Payback Book no later than Friday, October 27th Enjoy local discounts and raise funds for Foothill – start saving now! Have questions? E-mail Christy at FoothillPTO.secretary@gmail.com |
