Fifth Grade students were asked to reflect on their time at Foothill Elementary and they shared their favorite things about our school. The most repeated themes are how much our students love their teachers and that our school is a very safe and welcoming place.
Our entire staff and community deserves a huge THANK YOU for creating such a wonderful environment for our children. Below is a sample of the responses: “All of the staff members are so so nice. Also the specials are great.” ‘I really like Foothill because it has a great big library and it has a very nice librarian, Mr.Warshaw. I also like P.E. because it has a great, large gym.’ "The teachers are really kind and funny. They help you all day long. The principals that I have had are great. I love how when you fill your bead jar you get to choose what you do for a celebration. This school is great." "I like the teachers and activities we do such as the garden and awesome field trips." "Everyone is nice and you will have so much fun in Jamestown and the obstacle course." "I like Foothill because ALL of the teachers are nice, and the school is large, but easy to get around. I have learned a lot here, and if I needed special help I had it." "I like attending Foothill because the teachers make me feel so safe they are also really nice. I also like all the fun projects we do." "It’s nice and adorable. I also think this because it makes me feel safe with the programs that we do. All those assemblies to help us know that we can trust our teachers and staff members. I feel safe here. I love Foothill Elementary!!" "Foothill lets you learn in a way that makes you feel comfortable. They let you learn at a pace that you are okay with and they let you express your creative side. Everyone makes you feel safe and relaxed. I love Foothill." "At Foothill you do a lot of cool projects and activities like fun fall days." "I love how nice the teachers are and I think they do a good job of spreading things out like you are not sitting down for to long and I like how we are all diverse." "What I like most about attending Foothill is the teachers. I have been here since Kindergarten and I have only had amazing teachers. They are so nice and funny and make learning fun." A BIG HUGE THANK YOU to all the families and students that donated to the Community Foxes collection drive for refugee families. Your donations and welcome cards will go to newly arriving families from Somalia, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Bhutan, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Eritrea. Most refugees re-locating to Colorado are women and children. It was a huge success, and we feel very proud and grateful to donate so many wonderful items to the International Refugee Committee (IRC) in Denver. Toys, stuffed animals (many with home-made welcome tags to refugee children), books, puzzles, games, art and school supplies, science and art kits, a bike, clothes, home goods, and our wonderful and unique WELCOME CARDS. A big thank you to Ms. Arnow’s 5th Grade class for writing extra welcome cards. Again – this community project was a big success and we should all feel very happy, proud and delighted by the quantity and quality of the donations. It is truly impressive. Thank you for all of you who spent your time and money to donate to the Community Foxes project this year.
